The partial excavation of the minesteenberg creates space to make the stream meander again in a wider zone and to increase water quality. The ecological and recreational barrier between the nature reserves Brunssumerheide, Schutterspark, Schinveldse bossen and Teverenerheide is lifted.

The work is carried out by Combination De Koempel, a collaboration between Ploegam and Dura Vermeer.

• The work to be carried out shall consist essentially of:

• Recreational paths
